I graduated with a BS in Computer Engineering in 1994. I originally wanted to use the hardware side of my degree to design and build some type of circuits. However, I landed my first job with a software engineering firm and I have continued down the software development path ever since.
Over the years, I have worked for a variety of software companies. I began by writing programs in Synon on an IBM AS/400 at the CorningWare Distribution Plant in southern Pennsylvania. I then moved to Upstate New York and worked on a variety of projects including a telephone billing system, a web-based marketing application, a loan origination system, on-line classifieds for AOL, an insurance application and a few medical analysis and medical record systems.
Today, I work for a company that specializes in designing and supporting a Toxic Gas Monitoring Systems (TGMS) at a large computer chip manufacturing plant. I was brought on-board over 4 years ago to build a complete system for the engineers to design, program and test the TGMS. It has allowed me to build a full-stack solution consisting of a web application, a desktop application and a tablet application.
In my spare time, I enjoy 3D design and printing, making different IoT gadgets and designing and developing web applications. I also get outside once in a while to go kayaking, mountain biking and skiing.
